About this policy
Last updated October 19, 2026. This policy covers the Mac App Store edition of BackTempo Sensor for macOS. BackTempo Link is a separate application with its own privacy policy.
No automatic collection
BackTempo Sensor does not collect or transmit your personal information or system readings to us. It does not require an account, use advertising SDKs, include third-party analytics or track you across other apps or websites. The app does not need an internet connection for monitoring.
Readings processed on your Mac
The app reads aggregate CPU activity, system-volume capacity, memory and swap usage, physical Wi-Fi/Ethernet traffic counters, supported battery information, Mac model, processor information, macOS version and uptime. These readings are processed locally to display the menu bar, dashboard and recent charts. Reading traffic counters does not inspect network content, browsing history or individual files.
Local storage and retention
Display preferences, language, card order, warning thresholds and other settings are stored locally in the macOS application container. Recent chart history is held in memory and limited to the selected history range; it is not uploaded or kept as a server-side history. Quitting Sensor ends that in-memory session. You can change preferences in Settings or contact us for help resetting locally stored preferences.
Copy Report and your clipboard
Copy Report is optional. When you click it, the app writes a readable system summary to your local clipboard. The summary can contain your Mac model, processor, macOS version, uptime and current readings. It is not sent to us automatically. You decide whether to paste or share it.
Information you choose to send
If you email support, we receive the address and information you include in your message, such as an app version, screenshot or copied report. We use that information to answer your request and investigate the reported issue. Do not include passwords or unrelated private files. Contact us if you want us to delete correspondence you sent, subject to any retention obligations that apply.
Apple services
App Store downloads, purchases and diagnostics you choose to share with Apple are handled under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices. This policy describes Sensor’s own handling of data, not Apple’s services.
Your choices
You can pause monitoring, select or hide individual indicators, disable launch at login and quit the app at any time. There is no Sensor account to create or delete. Removing the app stops its monitoring; macOS may retain local preferences until those are separately removed.
Policy updates
If Sensor’s data handling changes, this page will be updated with a new revision date. Material changes will be described in the relevant app release information where appropriate.
